Lotek in QLD

Just got back from a weekend in Brisbane, did 2 gigs…the first was at X&Y bar in the valley along with Evil Eddie.
Rudekat Soundsystem provided the backing and I gotta say they did a bang up job!

I flew into Brisbane at 9am with nothing but a few hours sleep on the plane and after meeting up with the Rudekat guys around noon we jammed all afternoon. By the time we got to the venue at 8pm I was shattered…it took a “kick my arse” strength coffee from Pieface to get me up and at ‘em.

By this time Sunny Dread and The Rudekat Soundsystem had amped up the crowd and vibe soon washed away any tiredness.

The crowd really got into the tunes and even joined in for a Bob Marley style sing-a-long for Rudest Dude.

The next night at The Joynt somehow managed to top the previous gig, All Underground Sound and Truth Serum rocked solid sets and once again I was joined by Rudekat Soundsystem who by now were playing my songs like they had played them for years….

Can’t wait to get back!! In fact it wont be long I’ll be back up for this…

Win Win Win Situation

Its been a good start to 2011, just 2 months in and already 3 awards in the bag!

2011!

Happy New Year!!

So now the celebrations have died down and the hangovers have worn off it’s time to turn our attentions to the new year!

2010 was a good year but this is going to be bigger and better!! Last year I finished  International Rudeboy and released it in Australia.

This year I will be taking the record back home to UK and then across Europe, looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new ones.

So what can you look forward to from me  in the short term? Well, work is almost complete on the Dub version of International Rudeboy so look out for that.

Also, I’ll be touring Australia with my both my band The Rebel HiFi and my new horn section The Bovver Boys! (Wes and Luke from Kujo Kings)

My live shows are always fun filled events so keep an eye on your local street press for more info!

I’m also going to start posting up some videos from my studio sessions as there is always interesting dudes passing through… last year we had people like Roots Manuva, Ricky Rankin’, Jimmy Screech, Ozi Batla, Hyjak and Julez passing through and this year will see an equally impressive array of talent… already Promoe is booked in for next week!
